Ryan Armasu has 30+ years of experience developing and operating assets in the chemicals, renewables, and waste recycling industries and 10+ years in sourcing, due diligence, underwriting, financing, engineering & construction, and asset management of project finance assets and M&A deals.
He has worked for global corporations such as Bayer Corp., and Akzo Nobel Inc. in various engineering, project management, and operations roles before entering the field of renewable energy.
Most recently, Ryan has served as SVP for OTEC Corporation, an ocean power producer where he led the development of a $150 million Sea Water Air Conditioning (SWAC) project in the island of Bahamas to minimize pollution, increase resiliency and reduce electricity costs.
Prior to that, Ryan served as VP for Harvest Power, a waste-to-energy producer where he scaled-up the bioenergy division by installing anaerobic digestion and MRF engineered fuel and waste-to-energy assets.
Ryan has also served as EVP Operations for VBV, a joint venture between the Virgin Green Fund and Irish renewables company NTR plc where he helped build a US biofuels start-up company into a +$1 billion company, the largest pure-play producer of ethanol products in the US, now known as Green Plains Inc.
Mr. Armasu has an MS degree in Chemical Engineering from Texas A&M University and post-graduate studies at Stanford and Cornell Universities.
